JAX + RYAN

The easy breezy love between this couple is visible, they savor the beauty and meaning of their surroundings. Inspiration for this shoot drew on earthy elements of clay, coastal grasses and botanicals, the Spanish architecture, and an elevated and effortless sensibility. This organic chic feel paired earthy elements was light in the most divine golden hour light. Grace Loves Lace gown with the olive green fringe look complemented the design so well, plus we added a second look with a Cleobella dress for added pop.

The anniversary gifts exchanged by the couple included a hand sketch of their wedding venue, personal vows, and first dance lyrics printed on linen. To reminisce over their first dance, ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran, Jacquline incorporated the lyrics on a linen banner as an anniversary keepsake. Gifts also included love notes as daily reminders in a hand carved box, a brass peacock inspired by the wild peacocks that roam the ranch, and a custom card suite. The picnic scene in a eucalyptus grove during golden hour gave us hues that naturally aligned with the color palette. The lagoon was the ideal backdrop for this romantic scene and in the foreground you’ll find layers of Moroccan wedding blankets, potted cacti, pampas grasses, Aftican baskets, earth toned tasseled pillows, frayed linen napkins, and vintage gold leafed champagne flutes the couple sipped from on their wedding day. To top it off, the couple satisfied their sweet tooth with an artisan cake filled with gluten-free lemon sponge cake and wild blueberry layers, same as on their big day.

This photoshoot is a glimpse into the life of this couple. They celebrate the big and small moments in life and all that magic in between. Jacqueline is known to greet Ryan on any given night with an enchanting picnic as captured in the park (albeit in UCLA sweats in support of her husband’s love for the Bruins). Ryan is said to queue their first dance song so that they can relive their moonlit dance all over again. This photoshoot captured the very essence of thoughtfulness in every detail.

Location I: Leo Carrillo Ranch, Carlsbad CA. This historic Spanish ranch is nestled in a coastal canyon where wild peacocks roam, cacti gardens paint the landscape, and where the couple celebrated their beautifully intimate wedding last year.

Location II: Hosp Grove Park, Carlsbad, CA. The couple retreated to a nearby park situated amongst a eucalyptus grove where an enchanting picnic scene was staged by the light of golden hour hues.

Jacquline’s advice for brides planning now: “It’s important to remember that your wedding is a celebration of your love and is the most incredible party of your lifetime. There may never come a time that the most treasurable people will all gather in one place. Remind yourself, to take a moment to gaze at everyone surrounding you and savor it. This is a vision that will be imprinted in your mind and felt deeply in your soul forever. It’s easy to get caught up in the production and styling details but at the end of the day, your wedding is truly a success if you are married to the love of your life. This will radiate in your photo memories more than anything money can buy.”
